This small suburban town is located in both Knox and Loudoun counties in Tennessee. It’s home to about 25,000 residents and is named in honor of Union Adm. David Farragut, who fought in the American Civil War and was born just east of Farragut at Campbell Station.

Originally known as Campbell Station, the city of Farragut was not actually incorporated until 1980, primarily to avoid being annexed by neighboring Knoxville. The community sits just southwest of Knoxville and south of Interstate 75 north of Fort Loudoun Lake between Highway 11 and Interstate 140.

McFee parkThere’s plenty of things to do in this small suburban town such as Farragut’s dense and bustling shopping hub. Simply known as Turkey Creek, the stretch of Parkside Drive offers department stores, retail shops, restaurants, cafés, and more. It’s a great place to spend a weekend afternoon in  Mcfee Park and it’s also home to the largest movie theater in the area.

Farragut also has scenic parks and outdoor recreation department. With the lake being so close and multiple playgrounds and parks, there’s never a lack of things to do on a sunny afternoon. Head out from Callaway landing to the Cove at Concorde Park, small islands in Fort Loudoun Lake.
